Gift Via Donation
We appreciate you looking for a wedding registry, but no gift is expected from our guests! If you read why we decided to host an online wedding in our FAQs, you will see that a key inspiration came from the idea of directing wedding ceremony expenses towards magnifying impact. Team ACDC met through the Global Shapers, so in true Shaper fashion, we present to you 3 ways to help us improve our communities.
Help us start our Donor-Advised Fund
Whatβs better than a one-time change? It's a structure to make impact sustainable.
Weβre planning to set-up our own Canadian Donor-advised fund (DAF) together. DAF is a flexible and efficient yet structured approach for charitable giving popular in North America. Your gift will help us start-up our fund (we will match your donation). And it will operate similarly to a private foundation as a charitable endowment fund. The fund will be set-up with the Vancouver Foundation which targets a Return on Investment (ROI) rate at 6%. This means the fund is invested and reinvested and the returns will be directed towards philanthropy. With grants made over time annually to any registered Canadian charity, the DAF sets up a lasting legacy in perpetuity.

Disaster Response for Climate Vulnerable Communities
In 2013, Carlo assembled a small team and worked with pro-surfer John Rose to set-up Waves for Water Philippines in the wake of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). W4W PH has since then responded to all major climate events and completed hundreds of clean water projects impacting more than 1 million Filipinos. W4W PH implements portable water filter systems, the digging/renovating of bore-hole wells, and the construction of rainwater harvesting/storing systems for communities with unreliable sources of portable drinking water. Your donation supports W4W PHβs general fund.
